Since 2012, the Integrative Health Project has been working in Latin America bringing Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM) treatments and providing training to underserved communities -- principally in Guatemala and the Caribbean .
We have provided over 20,000 treatments during our twice yearly medical missions to Guatemala and have established community bases to provide continuing treatment between visits from volunteer medical teams. On average local providers deliver over 5000 treatments annually. Even through the pandemic and current political unrest local providers continue to care for their neighbors.
We are also so happy to report that participation in Puerto Rican clinics has become so much of a success that Salud y Acupuntura Para el Pueblo has taken the step to become their own tax exempt entity.
We actively screen for type 2 diabetes as well as hypertension and provide care integrating Traditional East Asian medicine, Mayan medicine and conventional biomedical treatment. A key element of this is the use of the #BoccinoProtocol, (an auricular acupuncture protocol which was developed for this community) to control Blood Glucose Levels.
IHP is proud to be a fiscal sponsor of the Atitlan Multicultural Academy (AMA) and is happy to accept tax deductable donations from US citizens on their behalf. Students from AMA work with us each medical mission, providing much needed translation and logistical support. The Integrative Health Project is a US tax exempt 501(c)3 volunteer run organization.
